After a very happy trial period with Scrivener this month, I purchased it this morning.
Now I am unable to register it.
I have tried EVERYTHING.
Typing the name and number.
Retyping them.
Typing them again.
Cutting and pasting them.
SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THE LUNGS IN FRUSTRATION SO MY NEIGHBORS WONDER WHAT IS GOING ON.
Every time, the little message pops up: “Invalid name or serial number”
HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM and if so can they please advise me?
This is such a wonderful program – and I am eager to use it again.
Thank you.
Have you gone through this page? It attempts to address the most common problems regarding serial numbers.
Thanks Amber, I tried it. It still doesn’t work.
IT WORKS!
I don’t know what I was doing wrong, but my copy of Scrivener is now up and running.
Best of luck to all – and now: back to work.
Great! It was probably some tiny bit of “white space” creeping in on the left or right for either field. All it takes is one space to foul things up.
Happy writing.
Hi grandstreet9,
I’m glad you got it working. I’m sure Keith took out the whitespace issues with 1.5, so I’m not sure why you had problems with registering. If you have any more problems, let us know.
Best,
David
I had the same problem with the registration not taking - even tho I did the copy/paste. Am guessing I had an extra space the first time. After mutiple tries, and great frustration, I discovered the serial # was listed multiple times in the form, even tho it looked like there was only one. Once I deleted all the #s to get a blank form, it worked perfectly. 8)
