You should rename the package in the Finder. Remove and recreate the link to the Project in Scrivener.
I’ve moved your post over to the Mac-specific thread, as renaming projects has nothing to do with Scrivener on either platform, and rather more how to use an operating system at a basic level (thus, very different answers beyond the abstracts). Scroll up for further discussion.
If you do not know how to find your project in Finder, then start with File ▸ Show Project in Finder, but probably start looking up a tutorial on basic file management on a Mac, as well, if you aren’t familiar with the concept of a file manager (like Finder).
Then, I would refer to §5.1, The Basics of Using Projects, in the user manual PDF. In particular make note of the first yellow tip box, with regards to overly depending upon the “Recent Projects” list.
