I’m using BBC Radio drama template and I cannot reset font to Courier Prime in project settings. I enter the info but it does not reset in project.
Changing your font formatting in either the Project Settings or the Preferences menu will not alter your existing text on its own. You’ll need to select your existing documents in the binder and go to Documents → Convert → Text to Default Formatting
in order to update existing text to your new settings. There’s a more detailed tutorial here.
Thanks, Jen. That worked and the tutorial gave me a clear understanding of the reasons why.
Something to be aware of with scriptwriting formats is that the default text formatting settings dictate how general text is formatted (white paper icons in the binder). So research, background, setting, character dossiers and other material would use that setting.
The script itself has its own formatting, used in yellow page icon items, and is all set up in the Format ▸ Scriptwriting ▸ Script Settings...
window.
Thank you. Very helpful.
I might add years ago (too many!) I created a lot of radio copy and used this BBC formatting. As far as I know Scrivener is the only writing program that offers anything close to it. It feels very radio to me as a writer. Format is important for getting the right vibe. Thanks, Scrivener, and thanks Amber for the tip.
