restarting autonumbering for each chapter


I’m using autonumbers to label images that I have in each of my chapters, so that upon compile I get something that reads: Figure 1.1, Figure 1.2, etc., with 1, 2, 3, at the end corresponding to <$n>

The issue is that when I compile my entire document, the first image in chapter 3 becomes Figure 3.21 (since I have 20 images total in Ch1 and Ch2). Is there a way to reset this so that the first image in Ch3 is Figure 3.1?

There is a reset token you can use for stuff like this. Here is the description from the Placeholder Tags List from the Help menu:

You can manually put these at the beginning of a chapter, or you can have the compiler insert them automatically using something like Separators or placing the reset code in the title prefix or suffix field.
