restore menu bar to previous state after full screen

Lately I have been using Scrivener with Megazoomer, which allows any(ish) OS X application to be made full screen, hiding the menu bar. I put Scrivener into full screen when not using the “full screen editor” so that I have more room for my corkboard view, inspector sidebar, and so on.

When I enter the Scrivener full screen editor to just edit, and then hit Escape to return to the normal view, the Menu Bar is turned back on, even if I am mega-zoomed to full screen.

I wonder if it would be possible to restore the menu bar to the state it was in before going full screen, rather than just always turning it back on. I know this is a corner case, but it’s a very comfy corner!
