Restore when Hidden

When I am not using an application, I usually minimise that application to keep my screen clear and focussed. Therefore Scrivener is often ‘hidden’. Then I use Cmd-Tab to switch back to Scrivener once my research is done however, it doesn’t return to screen, I must click the icon on the Dock.

For many Mac OSX Apps, I use the keyboard shortcut Cmd-1, or sometimes Cmd-O to maximise a given program. For example, Tweetie uses Cmd-0, Mail uses Cmd-1, etc etc.

Would it be possible to do use Cmd-1 to restore the screen view from hidden ?
