Can the original ‘Created Date’ be retained when ‘dragging & dropping’ documents between Scrivener projects? It doesn’t seem to do this. I’ve thought of a ‘workaround’ involving ‘Custom Metadata’, but would prefer a native option, if available. Thank you.
There is no option for this, but the behaviour should be to preserve the original date. I’ve added it to the bug list.
Ok, thank you.
‘Project Import’ seems to be affected, too, ‘Created Date’ is not transferring.
I’m wondering whether installing an earlier version of Scrivener, unaffected by the ‘bug’, could work: I’m doing a big sort of all my Scrivener Projects.
The other idea concerns the possibility of an automated batch appending of the ‘Created Date’ to the end of each document?
Hi,
Any news concerning fixing of the ‘bug’?
Thank you.
It’s on the list but hasn’t been addressed in an update yet. Not sure how helpful that is, but it’s the extent of my knowledge on the issue.
Thank you.
Would be great if it was addressed in the next update.
Hope it’s soon, but no rush. Scrivener is defintely the best writing software, I can be patient.
Any news on the ‘Created Date not transferring’ bug?
I’d like to copy files from an older project to a newer one. However, either dragging the documents between windows or using ‘import Scrivener Project’ both give the documents new Created dates. Is possible to preserve this?
This post indicates it’s a bug, but it’s also several years old: Retaining 'Created Date' when 'dragging&dropping' document?
