If I paste an url into a file, or import text, I tend to get stuck in the format of the new text.
I have defined a favourite writing font and colour etc… etc… Is there a keyboard shortcut I didn’t see to return me to that setting?

It doesn’t have a keyboard shortcut, but you can use the Documents/Convert/Formatting to Default Text Style menu command. This command can be run on many documents at once, so you can save clean-up until after you’ve brought in a bunch of material.
