Running slow and can't create new projects

I haven’t used Scrivener for a couple of months. It’s up to date- version 1.9.9.0

When I try to create a new project, I get the popup window to choose project type but I’m unable to select anything beyond the “Getting Started”, “Blank”, “Fiction”, etc choices on the left hand side. When I click on one of the options, I can’t enter a name for the project or click any other buttons in the popup.

I’m having a similar problem with the Name Generator tool as well where only some of the options can be selected and nothing else reacts when I click it.

Overall Scrivener is running a little slow and will freeze up. If click around too much, it won’t let me type or select anything in the toolbar. My only option at that point is to close the program.

Is this a known issue or have I broken something? Thanks!

You’ve broken something.

As a first step, Try creating a new scrivener test folder in your documents folder, on your computer. Let’s eliminate the possibilities of problems with Dropbox, onedrive, protected folders, etc. Create a new blank scrivener project in that folder. Does that work?

If not, try turning off ALL your antivirus products. and retry.

If you can create a new project, then mess around it it some and see if you continue to have issues.
