"Save As" Deletes All Text

I decided to make some radical changes to my novel and wanted to save an entirely separate copy while preserving the original. I hit File > Save As, type in a new name, and the file changes as expected.

However, when I click through my folders and documents, everything is blank. Basically, my outline was saved, but the text is gone. I checked the original file and everything is all right, but when I open the new file, the documents are all blank.

Edit: Note that I can get around this by just copy/pasting the original project folder in Windows Explorer, but it would be nice not to have to do it the “long” way.

Hmm, I can’t reproduce this myself. I created a test project with about 10,000 words of sample text in four different documents, and then used File/Save As... giving it the name of “saveas_test”. This saved, and the project window title changed to “saveas_test”. I clicked around and all of the data was there, so I closed and re-opened it to verify that wasn’t just me looking at the memory instead of the disk, and indeed it all loaded fine.

So there must be something about this project that is giving it a hard time. Is it a one-time thing? If you try save as from the original project again, does it fail again? How about if you try save as from the one you duplicated in Explorer?

I’m not sure if it’s related, but it may not be a save-as bug. I have a very similar issue in my NaNoWriMo. I didn’t save the project as a new project. But when it created back ups as it closed, I re opened it and every file I had changed was completely blank. This happened on the title page when I put in some of my information. This happened with most of my scenes. What you describe sounds like a similar issue to mine.
