Scene Name Suddenly Added to Document

Today, I integrated corrections from my proofreader, and the next time I compiled, the title of one of the scenes was included in the book. That is, instead of

… this is the end of a scene.

          * * *

This is the start of the next scene.

It appeared as:

… this is the end of a scene.

Arrival on Parallel Earth

This is the start of the next scene.

There was no “Compile As Is” or anything else that I could find to explain it. I fixed it by creating a new document, and copying and pasting.

For future reference: How did that happen??

The most likely reason would be that you checked the Title box in the appropriate row in the Compile -> Formatting pane.

A slightly less likely reason would be that you inadvertently placed the title in the body text of the document.

Thanks for helping me track this down so that it never happens again.

If it were (1), then wouldn’t all of the titles have appeared?

I checked (2) and as you can see (this doc is in the trash now), that title wasn’t there.
