Screenplay formatting fun!

Hi, I just updated to 1.5, love it so far, just like 1.1, but I’m still having trouble getting files IN from FDR. See, I have these old FDR files I started in FDR, and need to get them into Scrivener. I can’t import the file directly, so I bounced some .RTF files out of Final Draft - when I import those, the layout is right, but everything is formatted as “general text”.

…is there an auto-format button, or at least keyboard shortcuts for formatting it all line by line? I had so hoped I’d be able to import my files directly now. Oh well maybe in 2.0.

In 1.5, use the FCF format to import and export from Final Draft (called “File Converter” format in FD).
All the best,
Keith

AHA! FILE CONVERTER! I just didn’t know what that was. BRILLIANT.

Thank you!

Just wanted to add another reply saying that this worked swimmingly - FINALLY, I can organize my screenplay, and view a comprehensive outline VISUALLY showing me the dramatic arc. Truly a fine piece of work here (the program, not my script, at least… not yet.)

Glad it helped! When Final Draft 8 comes out, it should become even easier…
All the best,
Keith
