Scriptwriting / General Improvements

Hi guys,

I’ve just started using Scrivener for scriptwriting, and I generally like it. But, there’s a few improvements I’d like to see, if possible:

Currently, it’s possible to go to Format > Scriptwriting > Change Element To >… in order to change the current element style. It’s also possible, of course, to use cmd-opt-1, cmd-opt-2, etc. to change element styles. But it would be REALLY helpful if Scrivener either (a) integrated these element types into the “paragraph style” menu at the top near the format bar (or used an “element type” menu instead of the paragraph styles menu when in script mode) . . . or (b) used a floating palette of the different element styles (right-clickable to customize the element settings, or perhaps a gear-icon in the lower left corner could do this), where one could simply and quickly click – just once, with no shortcut keys needed – in order to change the current element style.

If this would be possible, it would sure save my fingers from a workout and/or my mousing-hand from a lot of extra work!

You know what? I am so stupid. Scrivener already has this feature, and I missed it completely!

Duh :stuck_out_tongue:

BUT – how do I make the menu STAY on the screen? Is there a hidden preference?

Glad you found it! (And methinks you are a long way from stupid. ) What do you mean about making it stay on screen, though? One thing you can do in script mode is hit return twice - the second return brings up the menu, as in Final Draft.
All the best,
Keith
