I just set up a new Mac Mini that has 10.8.1. I used Migration Assistant to bring all my apps over.
I ran Scriv 2.3.1 for the first time holding down the shift key to prevent it from loading my last open project, because I wanted to make sure that Scriv was working on a new sample project before opening my work in progress.
Scriv opened but the New Project menu item was greyed out, as was Open, Preferences, Quit, and many other menu commands. So, I couldn’t create a new project, open an existing project, register, or quit, and I had to force quit Scriv.
I downloaded 2.3.1 and reinstalled. Same behavior.
Then I renamed the ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener folder to Scrivener Old and ran Scriv again. Scriv created a new folder that has only a Logs folder, but I got the same behavior.
Scrivener’s Console.log is empty and there are no entries in my system logs that reference Scrivener other than these:
