I have a .scriv project that I moved from my mac to my windows computer. When I try to open it it opens a new file instead. I know for a fact that one of the earlier beta versions of scrivener for windows could open up my projects just fine. I’m hoping I’m just doing something wrong because I’d really like to buy the full version for windows (I have the trial version).
Navigate to the .scriv folder, and inside it, double-click on the .scrivx file there. If that doesn’t work, verify that you didn’t bring over a scrivener project that was created in version 1 of Scrivener for Mac, since those aren’t Windows compatible; they’ll have to be first opened (and automatically converted) on your mac.
The mac version is 2.2. I can’t go inside the .scriv folder (unless I’m doing something wrong). The .scriv folder itself has the scrivener logo like the program except it’s faded and sort of see through, it doesn’t look like a folder.
On the windows side it will appear as a folder. On the mac side, it will look like a single file (even though it really is just a folder). Am I correct in that your troubles are with the Windows version of Scrivener?
Yes. I’m looking at the folder on windows. It doesn’t look like a folder like I said. Does it help to know I transferred it from mac to windows via usb drive?
