Scriv/Win is slow

Hello!
I deleted the old Scrivener on Windows 10 and reinstalled 3.1.5.1. It’s been pretty slow since then. I’m highlighting text…wait 2 seconds…change font…wait 2 seconds…other settings…wait 2 seconds before I can continue working.
My system: Windows 10 - Ryzen 5 - 16 GB Ram - SSD.
Does anyone have a solution for me?
And excuse me, but I’m German and I had Google translate the text.

Do you have access to an Intel machine you can borrow or use to test Scrivener for Windows?
Shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to install and another 20 to run your tests.

Thanks a lot for your answer!
Why should i need an Intel CPU? If i work with Music (DAW) an Intel is much better, but for Text?
And no, i dont have access to another Computer with an Intel CPU.
I worked with my computer and Scriv before, and with the old version runs Scriv perfectly. Its just after the update very slow. I started the TaskManager on Windows to see the workload from RAM and CPU but there is all ok. CPU is 3% and RAM ist 26%. Also other Apps like Word worked perfectly. Its just Scriv, which is so slow.

It’s not my experience on an old 2017 Intel machine, running Windows 10.
My normal laptop is a 2021 Intel machine, and that is much faster, running Windows 11.
Both have i7 processors (4 generations apart) and 16 GB of RAM.
I’ve experienced no discernible lagging since the upgrade to 3.1.5.1.

The Computer is not the problem. I start 5 Browser, Excel, Word, Video and a few more Apps, and my Computer is still running like a perfect machine and very quiet, and also the CPU is still cool. ONLY Scrivener is lagging, and the Scrivener before the Upgrade runs also perfect. The problem CANT be the computer. This is not “Final Cut Pro” (Video) or “Logic Pro” (Music) this is SCRIVENER, Text!

I’d say, check your antivirus software, and whitelist Scrivener.
Check for other reaons files cannot beerotten to disk.
Check for external drives that may slow down Scrivener.
Experiment with projects on other drives or cloud services to see if that speeds up the processes.

I bet on the antivirus.
. . . . . . .

Could also be your drive(s) that is/are constantly compressing/decompressing everything to save storage space. —That’s bad.

I have another SSD with an “old” Windows 10 (without updates) on which I now installed Scrivener.
It ran without any problems.
I installed all Windows 10 updates and Scrivener still ran without any problems.
Now I’ve tried your tips.
The only antivirus I have is Windows Defender, which I disabled.
That seems to have been the problem, because Scrivener is running perfectly again.
However, it is interesting why the Defender accepted the previous version of Scrivener and is now causing problems with the current version.
And solved problems with the computer again one night, which we would not have had without it
Thank you very much for your help!
@Antoni: I saw your book on Amazon and the next 1st it will be ordered.

Nothing new.
It happens now and then with AVG too.
