Scrivener 1.6 - Left Mouse Button is intermittent

Hi Guys

I posted this previously but never managed to get back to investigate. I have just downloaded the v1.6 Beta and the problem I saw before is still in this version.

I have Windows 7 x64 and dual 24in screens. I removed the old version of scrivener (1.55), restarted and installed v1.6. I find that when I open scrivener the left mouse button seems to work for a few mouse clicks but then things start going weird in that if I click on a treeview item, more often than not nothing happens. I also cannot pull down menu items.

I’m not doing anything special. Just an full remove, reboot and full install. Scrivener does load an older test project without complaint so there must be some configuration left over after the fresh install otherwise I would have thought it should open a new project. I have tried creating a brand new project as well but the problem persists.

My next step is to go through the registry and delete any left over keys after a full remove then retry the install. Are there any other configuration files left over after an uninstall that I should be aware of?

Hi Lee

I thought I’d just give you an update on this one. I found that the problem only occurs when I use my Wacom Bamboo tablet with the wacom mouse (Tablet Model: CTE-650) . Although the mouse appears to work correctly in all other applications, it is intermittent when used with scrivener. The tablet pen seems to work fine.

I’ve done all I can investigating this (updating drivers etc) but haven’t been able to resolve it. For the time being I’ve reverted back to using a standard optical mouse with scrivener. I don’t know whether this is an issue across all Wacom tablets or just this model. I suspect it may be some sort of win7-x64/driver problem but I’m not able to test on other versions of the OS at this point.
