Scrivener 2.0 for Windows

Do we have an ETA on this?

I finished my entire first draft (250,000 words) in Scrivener. I am getting ready to do my first round of revisions and am blown away that the windows version does not yet have any sort of revision mode, track changes or even compare snapshots features whatsoever.

Are you kidding me? I did some research and saw some posts from a year and a half ago saying this would be implemented in the next version. When will that be released? And can we confirm these features will be included?

I absolutely love this program. But, without doubt, this is an absolute deal killer for me.

Please help. Fast!

“The Windows Scrivener project closely follows the design ethic and scope of the original Scrivener for Mac project. Since it is a newer piece of software, it is still catching up to its older sibling, so be sure and guide your choice based upon the information provided on this site, as other blogs and videos you find elsewhere might refer to the Mac version. Development continues to move swiftly, and you can be assured that every feature currently shown in the Mac design will one day be available for Windows, too*.” http://www.literatureandlatte.com/about.php

Scrivener for Windows updates have been popping up pretty regularly this year. A stack of new features have been added in 2014.

The iOS version is coming along, too, though, and I was told in another thread that the iOS developers are now working with the Windows and Mac developers, so that the iOS version co-operates with people’s desktop Scrivener files. There’s a lot of work going on.

For track changes, export the draft to Word.
For comments and shared revision, try Google Docs.
At some point, you have to leave Scrivener anyway.
It’s for that gloriously solitary hike up the mountain.
Then you have to go downhill to readers and reviewers.

I’m really curious about an ETA on this as well.

I know the folks with Literature and Latte have been hesitant to share ETAs because in the past development has taken much longer than originally anticipated, but the lack of information often leaves me sifting through the forum looking for some little tidbits that might hint at development progress. Don’t get me wrong, I understand why KB and the others have chosen to be so quiet on that front, but it would be nice to get more regular updates.

Might I suggest a monthly blog which summarizes the state of each project? It wouldn’t need to be too detailed. Heck, I think a lot of people, myself included, would just be happy to know what percentage you are into the development process.
