This post is especially for tiho and amberv.
In the current release (production!) of Scrivener 3 Macit is still possible to generate epub2! Neither this possibility is stopped nor existen any plans to get it off in further versions.
So, why the Windows-Developers tell us that epub2 will not be supported any more in Scrivener 3?
The Namegeneratortool was changed to work like the mac-one. Ok. But it’s already in Alpha. Why?
Test it yourselfes.
It’s not my job and not my intension anymore to do some Alphatests.
And yes i’m not amused
I’m a bit confused as to why you’d want epub2 support, it’s my understanding many sites have phased it out or are in the process. Why seek support for a format that’s obsolete and will soon disappear entirely?
It’s easy. Don’t use the beta, don’t whine about features under development in the beta.
Whine is not a bug report… which is desired.
That is part of using a beta that ANY rational person uses. by using the beta you agree to be a tester. Go it?.
You realize you complained about them NOT matching Mac and about them working to match the MAC in the same post? Sigh
Sign this, therefore, for my part, there’s not beta left anymore.
Take a look at meanings of a) Alphaversion, b) Betaversion, c) Releaseversion.
Maybe you’ll discover where it differs.
Sure, For one part they say: That will never come because … and for the other: We make Scrivener 3 for windows as equal as possible to the Mac-Version. Got the error?
Maybe in U.S. But in Europe for example there is actual nothing to see about such intensions, neither (online) bookshops nor service providers for selfpublishers.
