Scrivener footnotes convert to scrivcmt when used across line breaks

A while back I discovered that a footnote that wraps across a paragraph break converts the second paragraph into a scrivener cmt link that goes no where. Furthermore, it disconnects it from the existing footnote.

For instance, if I had the following all highlighted as material used from a source referenced in the same footnote:

"Using scrivener footnotes across paragraph breaks can be tricky,

this right here is an example"

After coming back to the page, the footnote would only highlight, “Using scrivener footnotes across paragraph breaks can be tricky” and it would convert “this right here is an example” into a scrivener link / cmt to a nonsensical address. If I made two identical footnotes, the same thing would occur. So far, my work-around is to make sure the second comment (after the paragraph break) is divided from the first by some non-referenced material like a period or quote mark that is outside the highlighted region. This seems to keep the footnotes from merging and then converting the part after the line break into the scrivener cmt.
