Does the epub generated by Scrivener meet Apple’s requirements for the ibook store?

I add Scrivener created ePUBs to my iBooks library regularly. (I use my iPad for review/revision of my books.) So far haven’t had an issue. Whether the ePUB meets the iBooks Store specification I haven’t checked but will have to do so soon as I plan to submit one there later this year—when the revision phase is complete.

I’m confused - what is the difference between the two actions you are describing? (I am a PC user - have never touched a Mac or even held an iPad)
What I mean by the first is that I add my own ebooks to my iBooks library by using File > Add to Library in iTunes or by using the Open in Another App button in iOS apps on iPhone or iPad. iBooks (the app) does not report any issues with ebooks that have all been Compiled via Scrivener. (I have seen it complain with ebooks downloaded from other places or that have been saved by the Firefox ePub-Catalog add-on; the latter includes additional JavaScript for navigation that iBooks the app cannot process. The add-on assumes that navigation can be done from the keyboard but no keyboard is displayed by iBooks the app when reading an ebook.)
By the second I mean the additional requirements of the iBooks Store for books that are uploaded for general sale/distribution. One example is books covers as Apple imposed additional conditions on their image size and pixel depth. Although the inclusion of covers via Scrivener is trivial (at least in the Mac version). The iBooks app does not impose restrictions on covers. Indeed it allows ebooks with no covers. The Store on the other hand has marketing requirements that need to be met.
