I have had today an strange problem - I cannot open anymore my Scrivener project. Scrivener just hangs on opening it and I have to force quit it. I can open another scrivener project without any problems. I last edited that project yesterday and it worked fine, no any issues.
Also on Finder when I press space over my project I can see my modifications which I made yesterday (short description what will be shown).
Any ideas what I can do to open that project again? It is my personal diary so I cannot send it to you for testing, sorry…
If anybody have any suggestions, I’d like to known because it would be great to make it work again so I can continue writing my daily diary.
When you force quit, do you get a crash report at all?
Also, please try the following:
Try to open the project and wait for the hang. Don’t force quit just yet.
In the Finder, navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener/Logs (note that on Lion, the ~/Library folder is hidden by default, but you can still access it by going to the “Go” menu in the Finder and holding down the Option key, so that “Library” appears there).
Inside that folder, you should see a file entitled Console.log. Open this in a plain text editor such as TextEdit.
If it contains anything, please post its contents here. This will hopefully give me some clue of what is causing the hang.
Thanks for quick reply. I opened terminal and chdirred to ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener/Logs and there were two files but they were empty files.

-rw-r–r-- 1 stargazers staff 0B 20 Maa 11:49 Console.log.bak
And what about crash report, yes. I can get crash report what I can send to Apple. I can surely copy and paste that crash report and send it to you if you want? Or should I paste it here?
EDIT: “20 Maa” = “20 Maaliskuu” = “20 March”, finnish version of OSX in use.
That is an odd crash log - everything in it is deep Apple code rather than anything Scrivener-specific. This usually indicates that an external plugin or framework is playing badly with Scrivener. The only other thing of note in the crash report is the mention of VirtualBox throughout - so that is the first thing to check. Try disabling or uninstalling VirtualBox and see if that helps.
Thanks but I don’t know why VirtualBox should change anything because at least it is on my another mac too where is Scrivener and no any kind of problems there.
Anyway, I got that problem solved. This is how it was fixed:
Copied that Scrivener project from iMac to MBP over wlan
Opened it on MBP -> no crash, no hangs -> it opened well (!)
Wrote my daily diary on MBP on that Scrivener project
Copied that modified Scrivener project from MBP to iMac
Opened that project on iMac = Success. No any kind of crash, hang or any kind of problems.
I have no any kind of idea why it did what it did but most important thing is that it works now again
Thanks for trying to help! Hopefully this does not occur again. =)
