Scrivener installs but when I try to start it I get the message: The application has failed to start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
Now what do I do???
The message indicates that Scrivener is unable to find certain Microsoft libraries on your system configuration. You should be able to get the program up and running quickly by downloading and installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), restarting Windows, and then just relaunching Scrivener.
I’ve done as instructed here, but still get the same error message (Windows 8). Anything else I can try?
That should say Windows 8 by the way!
