I spent all day yesterday and today so frustrated because Scrivener kept locking up with simple actions. Something as simple as an enter in the edit area would cause it to hang for 5 minutes or more. The frustrating thing was that I couldn’t back down to Scrivener 2.6 becuase 2.7 changed the file format, so I was stuck using the new version that was hanging.
Oh, I should mention, I’m running Scrivener 2.7 on Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.5).
In digging through responses to other problems of hanging, I took a look at the process sample from the Activity Monitor and noticed Address Book was frequently mentioned while Scrivener was hanging. I went into System Settings -> Security -> Privacy -> Contacts -> and unchecked the box next to Scrivener. That seems to have fixed the problem.
I wanted to make sure to share how I fixed the problem in case anyone else is dealing with a similar headache. And I also wanted to the Scrivener team to be aware of my experience hanging with the connection to Address Book/Contacts.
