Scrivener refusing to load and when it does, everything is empty

And at risk of further sending this thread off in an unintended direction, here is a little illustration of iCloud’s zaniness. Yesterday, I made a change to a file in my Documents folder on my MacBook, which I later shut down. My iMac, however, has been running all night. I just looked at my iMac, and apparently iCloud is having trouble synchronising, as it is showing this little graphic. I have been using my MacBook for about two hours this morning, so I might have hoped that all the data from it would have had some chance of making its way to the iMac. Especially such a massive amount as we see here, which clearly takes some time to process. I assume it is trying to hitch-hike, and the cars are just passing it by …
