Scrivener Will Not Install

Hi,

I’m really excited to get started with Scrivener, but it just won’t install. :frowning:

When I double-click the installer.exe, the hour glass starts spinning, then nothing happens. I’ve tried right clicking and running as administrator, but that doesn’t make any difference.

I’m running Windows 7 Pro Edition

** Update **

I got it to install by pretending to Switch Users (Start > Switch Users > Then logging back in again) The problem now is that Scrivener will not start, unless I do the same process.

Any suggestions?

There’s probably some other software running that’s conflicting with Scrivener, probably something that launches when you log into Windows like security software or some kind of monitoring service (sync, backup, text manipulation) that runs in the background. Try temporarily disabling any constant programs you’ve got running and see if it lets Scrivener launch properly. If it is something like that, there’s probably a way to exclude Scrivener from its purview.
