Scrivener won't start

I am on Windows 7. I cannot get Scrivener to start. I received an error message during creation of a backup file.

I cannot uninstall. Reinstall gives me a blank window with no text. I cannot start when clicking on the program, and I cannot start clicking on a file.

What should I do?
