Scrivenings Mode: Deleted Text Reappears on Relaunch

Text deleted from a document in Scrivenings Mode is restored on re-open.
If edits are made in other Scrivenings after the deleting, the restoration is random (sometimes the delete takes, sometimes it doesn’t.) However, with the following steps, I can reproduce this every time:

  1. create a couple documents, siblings in the Binder
  2. open in Scrivenings Mode
  3. Type some text in one of the documents, such as. “This is line one.”
  4. Start a new line. Type some more text, eg. “This line should be deleted.”
  5. Save, if needed.
  6. Delete the text, “This line will be deleted.” The text will disappear, as expected.
  7. Save, if needed.
  8. Close Project or Quit Scrivener.
  9. Reopen Scrivener Project.
  10. “This line should be deleted” magically reappears.

Version 2.0 (6218)

Workaround: select the single document, delete the text.

Eek! Good catch - I’ve just fixed this for 2.0.1.
Thanks!
Keith

something similar applies, as far as I can see, to format presets. I was trying to format captions for illustrations in multiple document mode. Steps:

  1. build scrivening
  2. lock editor
  3. change format presets for chunks of text (in my case, under pics)
  4. unlock editor and view some single document (don’t know if this is a necessary step)
  5. close project
  6. reopen project. All changed format presets are back to former values.

Testing this out, it seems to be the same bug, so is fixed for 2.0.1. Thanks!
