I tried to open up Scrivener and got this error:

“Scrivener” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Scrivener” and download it again from the App Store.

I don’t want to delete and loose all my files/books. So what are the steps to fix this and save all my work?

Your work is stored separately from the Scrivener app, so deleting the app and re-installing it will not touch any of your project files. If you can’t remember where you told Scrivener to save the project files to, you should do a search for them in Finder so that you can navigate to open them when you’ve installed the new version.

That’s good to know.
Thank you.

This might be the annual Apple glitch, when they update certificates and many applications refuse to run. Sometimes all that’s needed is to restart the computer.
