Scrub Formatting Button

I would love to see a “Scrub Formatting” button like MS Word has to return the formatting to the default setting.

The Edit/Paste and Match Style (Shift-Ctrl-V) command does this already.

Plus for stuff you’ve already got in the editor that you wish to clean up, there is the batch tool, Documents/Convert/Formatting to Default Text Style.

Erm it’s “Paste and Match Style”, and as the OP is on Windows, presumably it’s Shift-Ctrl-V unless it’s something completely different.

But I like pasting in patch style.

Am I then to suspect that, among your many and varied abilities, you are an expert patch-work quilt maker?

Is there an in-between function that will match font settings (font & font size) without stripping out bold, italics, etc…? I don’t often use P&MS because it strips out italics, so I make frequent visits to the Convert menu item. If not, maybe we could get that as a future enhancement? A menu item that one could assign a shortcut to would be nice.

If you assign a shortcut to Documents > Convert > Formatting to Default Text Style, it’s easy to clean up the formatting quickly. One of the first shortcuts I set up.

Sure, but that doesn’t take stuff from my copy buffer and clean it up as it pastes rich text into the editor. I’d love a one-short-cut method of adding text that I’ve just copied which matches the editor’s font, font size, and font color (or lack of color) while retaining other styling.
