Search function not working in Scriv for Windows

I’m on Windows, been using Scrivener for a few years, but never did much searching. I know it worked at some point, but it has been a while. Now, it just shows me all the binders, whether they have what I’m searching for or not, (including empty folders), in some order that I can’t make sense of. A few hours ago, it showed me all the folders , but in the order they appear in the manuscript, but I shut down the program, restarted the computer, and voila, it’s worse.

Any advice?

There is a function under File
“Save and Rebuild Search Indexes”.

Have you tried that?

Also, make sure that you have the right search criteria set (click the magnifying glass to the left of the search input field).
