Section layout works on all documents except one?

I’ve defined a section layout and that works as planned, except on the first document in the folder. On compile, this document retains the font and layout I use while working in Scrivener.
I have tried deleting this document and pasting the content into a new document, but that doesn’t solve the issue.

Any suggestion what I do wrong?

There are two things I would check for:

  • In the compile overview screen, double-check that when you click on the Section Layout preview tile, the item in question is highlighted in yellow in the Contents list on the right.
  • If it is definitey set up right, then check the text itself and make sure it is set to “No Style”. Styled text will automatically preserve the sorts of attributes the style grants to the text, with regards to the type of formatting override a Section Layout can do.
