Securing Dropbox files from theft

For those still looking for securing your files and projects within Dropbox, there is a program called Boxcryptor that is made specifically to encrypt DropBox folders & files. I’ve been using it for about a year and it works seamlessly with Dropbox.

It doesn’t create a whole crypted volume like TrueCrypt, instead it encrypts the files themselves. Thus you only need to sync the files that are changed, instead of a single volume.

I just switched to Scrivener early this week, and so far it has worked well syncing between my desktop and laptop. No project corruption yet (I’m still on the trial).

I may be missing something, or this could be an old thread where the synch client did not have the capability…

Most services like Dropbox now have a client that automatically syncs, so if it is deleted from the cloud it is deleted from the local next time it syncs, no? At least that is how my cloud backup on Copy works.

I switched to Copy [ copy.com?r=1PX1Bb ] and got 20GB for free (actually it is 15GB to start and an additional 5GB if you install their synch tool, but you can delete it later if you want).

[Copy is a service/product from Barracuda Networks, who make anti-spam and firewall products. And I do not work for them…]
