Select meta-tags for compile

Hi,

I just bought your great application: The compelling reason to do so? Customizable meta-tags!

And to make me (and maybe/hopefully others as well) even more happy I would love to have a feature that gives me control over the meta-tags that are printed out in the document.

I do not need “created”, “modified”, “status”, and “label”. I need only my own meta-tags and would like to use them a) to organize a couple of hundred text snippets and b) as a kind of sub-header in the document.

Two one more things:

  • There could also be an option wether the meta-tags are listed (as it is at the moment) each in its own line or comma separated in one (wrapped) line. Like this:

Created: 24 April 2012, 09:41, Modified: 24 April 2012, 13:49, Status: No Status, Label: No Label

  • A second option could be “Date only, no time”

But most important for me would be the feature to select which meta-tags to be listed. This all would fit wonderfully in one more tab in the compile screen.

Hope you like it.

Thanks and regards from Germany,
Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for buying! And the good news is that you can already do exactly what you want - you can add meta-data tags to the document using placeholder tags (see Help > Placeholder Tags List…). You could add them in your text, or using the title prefix or suffix (via Level Settings… in the “Formatting” pane of Compile, via the notes or however else you want to insert them.

So, for instance, you can add the following anywhere in the text (or in the title prefix and suffix settings)

<$label>

And that will be replaced with the current document’s label. Or:

<$custom:My Custom Field>

And that will be replaced with the value of your custom field.

Hope that helps!

All the best,
Keith

It worked!

Thanks.

Martin
