Selective outline view

The “Notes” thread started by Lord Lightning triggered a wishlist item for me…

So, you can “edit scrivenings” on an arbitrary set of files, but I noticed that you couldn’t select the same arbitrary set and have them show up in the outliner. Or at least, they didn’t show up for me; I only ever got stuff in the outliner when I clicked on a group.

I’ll admit I don’t know if I’d use this feature, but it seems to mesh nicely with the ES feature. And, well, so much of Scrivener is new that I don’t yet know how I’ll prefer to work with it! So I thought I’d throw the idea out there.

Hey Janra, this is on the list for beta 2 - the way the outliner and corkboard work will differ slightly, similar to your suggestion. This is going to take a bit of thinking about, so I’m not 100% sure how it will end up just yet, but this is the big thing remaining before beta 2 is released…

Clearly I haven’t been paying close enough attention to the beta2 feature list discussions
