separate zoom for footnotes

Maybe this function is already in the program (I can’t find it!)

It would be nice if footnotes could be zoomed in on too. I work with 300% zoom on both my laptop and tablet; it’s just much easier to look at big fonts and such and I really like that function, but when it comes to inspector footnotes, I’m stuck at looking at a tiny font.

I know I can change the “font” to be bigger (though this function seems to be broken in the new version, since it resets every time i leave thepage), but i don’t care about the font style/font size. Since scrivener is about writing/editing (not formatting), it’d be nice to be able to adjust only the display parameters.

We do indeed plan to have a function to zoom the text scale in the Footnotes & Comments pane. It will by default track with the main editor zoom level, but could also be decoupled and run at a fixed zoom setting too.

The font size trick should be working in the interim, I’ll have to check on that in a bit once I’m back around a Windows machine.

There’s a bug with the Convert to Default Formatting command on comments and footnotes that isn’t saving the conversion unless the note text is edited again after the conversion. You should be able to change the existing notes by running the conversion, then just making a minor edit and removing it–space then backspace, that sort of thing. New notes should be using the proper font size from the defaults to start.

Cool! good to hear.
Is there a place where I can read about the new release stuff planned? I probably shouldn’t ask for an ETA about such things, knowing full well that everyone is hard at work. What order of magnitude are we looking at?

We try to keep this post up to date (though looking at it, I don’t see this zoom difference on the list, so I just added it). Basically the Mac version is the road map (in a general way, obviously things that are Mac/Win specific will probably remain that way), as it has been around a lot longer.
