I got it and found it very useful. I just have read fine book James N. Frey (in russian) for writers. And this structure for Scrivener looks like help for application of those book.
Thanx! I think this addon for Scrivener needs to be added to distributive!
James N. Frey ROCKS!

Like robin2022, my download of the .scrtpl file is timing out at 69.3KB.
Corrupted file, or just bad data in some phpbb cache?
I found out the file is still OK in spite of this “69,3” enveloppe. It works.
It looks really good. I just wish my brain was as organised…

I’ll be damned if I am going to let this thing beat me.
I finally managed to download this (use Camino and not Safari…) only to trip over another stumbling block.
I can’t open the document. MS Excel is insisting that it is one of its files it doesn’t parse.
I can’t seem to open it with any other program. Can someone help me out here?
In the finder, select the file and press cmd-I (get info). One of the pieces of information shown is what program is associated with that file. You can change that to Scrivener here - and you may want to tell the system to open all files of this type with Scrivener when it asks.
I believe the template files have to be placed in ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener though, and you don’t open them directly.
.
Here is a zipped copy of the structured story-development template.
If your browser has trouble downloading the bare template file posted earlier, you might try this.

Quick Instructions: Download the zip file, then unzip it (i.e. double-click on it); unzipping creates a like-named folder in which you will find the template file. Place the template file in the following location in your home folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener/Templates. Now, whenever you start a new project in Scrivener, this template will be listed among the templates you can start with.
[UPDATE: Deleted old zipped attachment. Updated template for Scrivener 2.x is zipped and posted later in this thread.

janra, thank you!
I still couldn’t change the file association (tried that already). But never mind, it didn’t matter once you pointed me in the correct direction of where to put the thing.
There are a couple of steps missing, which may be obvious to everyone else, but they obviously weren’t obvious enough to me, so:
- The file path actually needs to be ~/Library/Application Support/Scrivener/templates
Note: you might have to create that last folder if you haven’t mucked about with the templates before.
- To get at the template just create a new document via scrivener.
Greg,
Thank you very much! I’ve been waiting for a new version of Power Structure for years, and this may be the response to my long wait.
Working with your template is a bit different than working in PS, and obviously there aren’t some of the features of PS (like parallel index cards and climax graphs), but it seems to me that using Scrivener with your template is, in general, more comfortable than dealing with the clumsy writing interface of PS.
Clumsy interface. Ever liked, in PS, the “full screen” mode with text spread across the whole 19" screen?

Keith or gr will up these soon. The versions here were set out as Scrivener working models and that doesn’t quite fit the Template idea. They were my working project files. The new versions will be in the right form and will fit your monitor better.

When these templates reach their final state - that is, after a little user feedback - if the creators are willing, please feel free to e-mail me a copy and indicate that they could be included in the new Extras folder that comes on the DMG. I would be happy to include user-created templates with the Scrivener DMG package if the creators are willing.
When e-mailing me the template, just provide the name of it and a brief decription of what it does, so that I can include that information in a readme file inside the Extras folder.
Thanks and all the best,
Keith

Holy structure, LL, that’s quite a template. Many thanks for your generosity.

Keith, any chance you could disable that zip virus scanner that is messing up our archives? I don’t think zip viruses are going to be too much of a problem around here.
I’m not having any trouble with the zip files.
They expand automatically when I download in FireFox.
Tim
[Thanks again LL]
