Show Pins, Return to Place in Doc, Doc Merge [BUG LOGGED]

The “Show Pins” under View->Corkboard should be in orange since the option doesn’t appear in the menu at all. Also, Document->Merge isn’t in the dropdown menu.

Also, I was wondering if we’re supposed to be able to return to the spot we were at in a document after returning to it from looking at another file? If we are, it’s not currently working and if we aren’t, I would like to request that feature.

Otherwise, I am seriously loving Scrivener and can’t wait to settle down to write after finishing the tutorial!

I’d like to second that request - it’s definitely something that bothered me while I was working through the tutorial

Ditto on that request.

I see a menu option for View/Corkboard/Show Label Pin. So I disagree that it should be orange. The wording should be edited though.

Merge should definitely be orange however, you are right that hasn’t been implemented yet.

Having the editor remember the current cursor position is also something that will be done, but isn’t yet.

The wording in the tutorial lead me to believe that “Show Pin” and “Show Label Pin” are two different features as quoted below.

No pins show up for me, either … just the colored corner.

Hmm, yes that wording does seem imprecise. These two functions should be one and the same. Showing the corner colour tab is synonymous with showing the graphical pin.

To see pins, you’ll need to edit your display options in the corkboard tab.

Yes, I just found it. Edit > Options > Corkboard. Yay, pins! Yay, square corners!

In the Mac tutorial, it mentions ‘tinting’ the entire card as a option vs. having the colored pin. Is this something that will be eventually added to the win version? Hope so!

That should be on the to do list, yes.
