Show Synopsis in Scrivenings

is it possible to show the Synopsis below Titles in Scrivening?

A bit more detailed:
When editing a Scrivening I would like to see the contents of the Synopsis shown below it’s title. Is there any way to do that?

Hi Marc.IX, welcome to the forum

I don’t see how this could be done.
There is a menu function to append the synopsis to a document’s body text, but it places it at the end. It also treats it as normal text, meaning that later editing the synopsis won’t reflect in the editor.

But, if you are in a scrivening (in case you haven’t noticed), if you click in a document, the inspector will be the one for that single document. So you’d have the right synopsis in there.

As it turns out, I think this is better. Especially for long documents, where you would otherwise have to scroll back to the top or the bottom to consult your synopsis. This way, it is always visible; no matter where in the document you are.

Thank you Vincent! : )
the “append synopsis” option doesn’t sound too bad. Do you remember where it is? I was going to try it just now, but was not able to find it yet.

About the synopsis in the inspector. Thank you, I have seen that, but I do most writing in composition mode… so it’s not visible ; )
I came here from using another program and there is was possible to turn off title and synopsis with a simple toggle switch as it was somehow part of the main composing process… although it was named different. So I thought it’s a common practice and for sure easy to accomplish in scrivener… I’m kinda used to it, but hopefully I’ll get around.

Thank you! :slightly_smiling_face:

Ha : ) Awesome! Thank you so much. You were reading my mind ; )

The inspector toggle inside the composition mode is a great alternative to what I am used to!

I just tried the append synopsis option. Although it does exactly what the name implies I wish it would be a bit more flexible… for example add it in a specific color or font. But it’s better than nothing. For a document that’s already started it did not work out for me, because I cannot easily distinguish the added text from what was already there. But I guess it is ok when it’s appied just after outlinig. Good that it works on multiple files at once. although a simple “show/hide synopsis” just under the title would be ideal.

Thanks again!!
