Hi Guys,
I have a novel that I am trying to convert to a script. I have two projects open and would like the script and the manuscript to be side by side so I can cut/paste the lines from the novel to a script. Is this possible?
Hi Guys,

Yes, that’s the whole point of a windowing operating system like macOS. In Scrivener, Open the novel manuscript (Menu: File → Open) and then Open the new script manuscript (Menu:File → Open). Adjust the windows as you like.
What I did in a similar situation was to move the manuscript into a separate folder and then start the script in the now-empty Draft folder in the same project. Then split the editor and put the respective scenes (novel version and script version) next to each other.
If you keep both in the same project, you can create documents for your script and use document bookmarks to the original novel chapters/scenes. This gives you the advantage of using the inspector to view the original and the main editor for writing corresponding script scenes. Whenever you move to a different script document, the bookmarked novel chapter will automatically load in the inspector.
Thank you! I can’t get them to tabs to work. It opens in full screen when I start a new project.
Oh this sounds like the way to go. I am new to Scivener. I’ll have to learn to do this. Thank you!
Thanks everyone! I got it set up using a little of what each of you suggested. I opened them side by side, then pasted the novel/manuscript into the script and I’m using the raw portion then adjusting to make it a script. You guys are awesome!
You could have dragged and dropped instead of copy/pasting.
