Got a strange one. I use single quotes for dialogue and they show in the correct orientation, depending weather at the beginning or the end, but they often don’t if at the beginning of a new line. I seem to find quite a few when editing.
Anyone else had this?
I would turn on “Show invisibles”. (I’m on my iPhone at the moment and can’t remember where it is… Projects → Editing …, something like that.) I wonder if you have a new line rather than a paragraph break immediately before those wrongly oriented ones.
Hard return, same as the other lines of dialogue.
My next recourse would be to try “Zap gremlins” at the bottom of the Edit menu.
Or I would transform to un-smart quotes and then transform again to smart quotes.
If that fails, I’d look into using a RegEx find and replace, or quite simply, and perhaps laboriously, re-type the end of the previous paragraph, the return and the quote mark and beginning of the new paragraph.
Zap Gremlins? Not seen that before, we’ll see how that goes.
