Hallo, just got scrivener and try to get going with it…
Looks cool so far and seems to work on my Macbook with Leopard. The first problem I got is the big cursor line. If I open a new project and want to type some text I get a big thin line where the cursor is. I found out how to make the line thicker, but how can I make it smaller? And how can I get the lines closer together? Is it supposed to be like this? I have been through the tutorial, but even in the tutorial the distance between the lines seems to be messed around with…
What can I do?
Now I found someone, who had the same problem in 2005…?
I found out, that after TEXT>RULER>show ruler I can open a dropdown menu with lots of possibilities for the spacing. I checked the spacing from the tutorial where the spacing is alright: line hight is 1, Line multiple is 6, all others are zero. Tried to do that in a new document: After I did, no improvement. I should think, that one changes the line spacing under preferences/ text editing, but no.
Is this a bug?
Heck, if I could get some help here! javascript:emoticon(’:?’)
Did you select the text before changing the line spacing using the ruler?
You have got some help here - and rather prompt, too, if I do say so myself.
You can change this via Text Editing Preferences. Just use the ruler in the Text Editing preferences to change the line spacing to 1x (by default it is 1.5x). Then click “OK” or “Apply” in the Preferences panel. This will affect all new documents. To change current documents, after doing this, you can select them in the binder and use Documents > Convert > Format to Default Style.
Best,
Keith
Hej, thanks for the rather prompt answer. But: It does not change anything. Line height multiple is on 1 or 1,5 line height looks strange to me: “At least=0” has no effect, “exactly = 6” gives good result, but cursor is a few lines further down then where it writes…
Does the cursor need to be several lines big?
Best regards, Thomas
