Splitting a Scrivener File

I have been keeping only one Scrivener file but because it is large now and slow to open, I want to find out what is the best way for me to split it. I would like to be able to export some of the folders and create new Scrivener files. However, I would ideally like to be able to have my settings exported into the new Scrivener files, settings like my labels for instance.

I see an option to export a folder from my current file as a Scrivener 2 project. Is there an option to export is as Scrivener 3 project?

The easiest way would be just to make a copy of the project in the Finder, and then delete what you don’t want from each version of the project.

All the best,
Keith

Great tip. Thanks!

Place your cursor within the text where you want the split to occur. Go to Documents–>Split–>At Selection. Scrivener moves all of the text after your cursor into a new file with the same label as the original plus
