Start a specific text on a new page

I have Chapter folders. Within the folders, I have text 1, text 2, text 3, etc. I want text 3 (only) to start on a new page. How do I achieve it? Can I do it while editing or I only can do so while compiling?

Assign a different section type to it (that doesn’t force a page break).

I assume that I can only do so while compiling? Does it have an equivalent of MS Word’s Ctrl+Enter option? It’s easier to see it visually.

You can manually insert a page break before if you wish.
It is not specially recommended, but it works. (If that is all you need – nothing else relating to formatting etc.)

But it wouldn’t be easy to see visually (since Scrivener isn’t WYSIWYG) and it’s counter to Scrivener best practices.

That’s right.
Best thing to do in that lesser alternative would be to put the page break alone in a document properly labeled “Page break”, and insert it in the binder where you want the break to be. This way you won’t forget it is there, or accidently delete it while editing.

That’s actually a surprisingly good idea.

@JimRac’s, if I remember properly. (From some closely related thread.)

Nah, that’s wasn’t me! Outwitting compile isn’t really my strong suit. But thanks for thinking of me! :vulcan_salute:

That’s exactly what I wanted  Thank you.

It’s similar to my suggestion putting separators in a binder document by themselves. Or maybe it was your idea.

If you do that a lot, I think you’ll eventually regret it. Your mileage may vary, but the rub comes in if/when you want to get rid of all those breaks. If it’s a separator in Compile, you can add or subtract them in seconds; adding or deleting them in the text is fatr more tedious

i’m doing it sparingly. and insert->break->page break seems to work for me visually.

I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with the View → Text Editing → Show Invisibles setting. It will come in handy when Future You forgets having put the manual page break(s) in and can’t figure out why this section doesn’t have the same formatting as others with the same Section Type.
