Starting the tutorial

First off, great tutorial! I can’t wait to get my hands on the released version.

Just one comment on starting the tutorial:

Go to
literatureandlatte.com/scrivenerforwindows/

It says:
“Choose ‘Open Tutorial’ from the Help menu inside Scrivener to load Scrivener’s tutorial.”

Maybe I was missing something, but I had to do this:

  1. Start Scrivener.

  2. Choose Blank for the template, and enter My Great Novel in the New Project Name field.

  3. Click Create.

  4. From the Help menu, choose Interactive Tutorial.

Yeah. We’re working on a better solution for that. On the Mac, starting the program out with the new project template screen as designed works, because on a Mac you get a global application menu bar at the very top of the screen—even if no windows are currently opened. On Windows, of course, the menu is attached to the window. So we’ll find a better way to address this problem so that help resources can be available right from the get-go. The tutorial will be fixed once this mechanism has been designed and implemented.

Aww, you don’t want to use MDI windows?

I kid! I kid! Please don’t make me use MDI windows!
