Stop auto-capitalize after certain combinations?

I’m writing a dissertation and often have phrases that have an abbreviation followed by a word that should not be capitalized (for example, U.S. citizens). Scrivener currently autocorrects this. Is there a way to tell the program to ignore capitalization problems after certain words? I don’t want to just autocorrect “U.S. Citizens” to “U.S. citizens”—that’s just one of many examples where I encounter the problem. However, if I could set up a list of abbreviations after which the program should NOT auto-capitalize, that would be very, very helpful.

Thanks!
Dave

Hi,

No, there’s no way of doing that, but if Scrivener ever auto-capitalises a word you don’t want capitalised, just hit undo - the capitalisation is in the undo stack, so that will return it to lowercase.

All the best,
