I strongly assume that the current issue is because I am an amateur. Anyway, I don´t know what I did but since today, when I write in Scrivener on Windows (Ver. 3), this happens
I want to write:
«Wohin geht die Reise? Was ist die erste Etappe?», fragte Elias.
But the outcome is:
«% Wohin geht die Reise? Was ist die erste Etappe? %»
If I copy & paste the text, the % disappears and it looks like as it should:
« Wohin geht die Reise? Was ist die erste Etappe? »
Where is the % coming from? And how I do get rid of it?
That’s a strange one! Have you tried using another font? It might be, if you are using one of the non-breaking space options, that this font isn’t displaying it properly, and when you pasted it was into a spot with a different font. That’s the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.
Hm, that could go into the right direction, but the thing ist: I am using Palatino, set to 14pt with 1.4 space between the lines.
I hope that Palatino is okay because I see that your tutorial is written with Palatino
Best regards,
Peter
PS: Just to check: I have changed the font in one document to Courier New and the issue is gone. This is not really tragic but Palatino is so nice to read when writing
I bet you could find a better font than Courier that supports it, but yeah that is a little surprising that Palatino doesn’t display this character correctly!
As for the tutorial, well it is written in English, so it wasn’t selected for its broad Unicode characteristics, but something nice enough to look at that everyone has installed that works for the material in the tutorial.
I think the easiest way to make sure that there will no surprises is to use the standard fonts that have been coming in the settings with Scrivener. For Windows I think it is Sitka, right?
