Strange Licensing Error Message

I got this error message several months ago and reported it through another channel to Scrivener, but never got a response, so I figured I would try posting it here:

"Your automatic re-activation with our license provider has failed for more than 3 months.

Scrivener has been unable to verify your activation for more than 3 months. After 6 months, Scrivener will revert to trial mode. Please ensure your computer is connected to the Internet and restart Scrivener to verify your activation.

Error: Cannot configure: Please enable TLS 1.2 on this machine."

How can I resolve this error?

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Please look around at one or more of the many, many reports and discussions of this issue, which arose when the license verification service that Scrivener used abruptly went out of business last summer, and they had to find a new one in a hurry. E.g.:
