Style inconsistent in Compile vs. the main Editor.

I defined a paragraph style and applied it both in the main editor and the Compile layout editor. They’re not the same.

Did you create the style in Compile as 11 point? That’s the only reason it would be that way. The styles in Compile are not the same styles as the ones in your project - they are there to override the ones in your project. There’s a menu in Compile that allows you to copy the current project’s styles into the current Compile format so that you can edit them for overriding, that’s all. But once you’ve copied a style in, if you make changes to the style in your project, that won’t affect Compile’s styles which are entirely separate. Compile formats can be used with any number of projects, after all.

Having the two sets of styles, in the Editor and Compile, is one of the strong points for me. I can compose my text using Palatino 12 point, which I like on screen, and then have my standard Compile set up to pick up all the styles but use AGP 11 point for all the body text, and so on.

As a hardened Scrivener 2 user, it was unlearning the old Compile system and learning the new which I found the most time and effort consuming, but well worth it in the end.

This was something I was completely unaware of, and it seems like such a well thought out approach. I’ve got much learning to do.

I doubt I created a style in Compile, since I don’t know how to do so. I’ll look into it.

Never mind, you explained it above. I copied it into Compile, then changed it in Scrivener. (I suppose.)
