i want folding features in the editor in scrivenings mode, just like the behavior in the Binder
when folded, only the scrivenings title are shown in the editor, and we have a “…” in the end of the title as well as a ▼ in the front.
Also, the folding status should be remembered when you leave the scrivenings mode.
i know there is folding feature in the outliner mode, but in that mode you only see structures of titles, i want this feature in scrivenings mode, where i can see both the title and the content
You can get close to it now of course: instead of just highlighting the top level folder, click on it, then shift click on the bottom document in the range to highlight them all in the binder, then cmd-click on the ones you don’t want to see, which removes them from the Scrivenings (cmd-click to ‘unfold’ them). The only difference is you don’t see the titles in the Scrivenings, thought they’re still visible in the Binder of course.
i know this method, but when you are using Collections, you can not do that.
Also, that method is not convenient if your substructure is complex
I hope it could be a new feature
if you select different text in collections use cmd-click, it really works.
but for example, i only collection ‘section 1’, if i use cmd+1 to go into scrivenings mode, it will list all sub-texts, but now you do not have sub-structure of section 1 (as i do not collect them, and you can not have hierarchy structure in Collections either), i can not use your method to ‘fold’ and ‘unfold’ the sub-text of ‘section 1’.
only when in Binder, you have the full sub-structure, and your method works
that’s why the feature is needed to conveniently hide and show sub-structures in different status
